Not that any of the tracks on the back half aren’t amazing, I can’t say I don’t like any of them, and the last leg of the album from Immature onward was definitely a highlight, but I can’t say any of these songs hold a candle to the bombast of the first two tracks. My only complaint is that I feel that this album is frontloaded with bops, and it kind of makes the back half of the album a little underwhelming. Songs like Hunter and Jòga sound as majestic as Icelandic landscapes are, and this album is breathtaking for that reason. A lot of people have described this album as “the sound of Iceland” and I have to agree. Not immediately, it took a couple relistens of the first three tracks of this album before it clicked for me, but one day Jóga came on my shuffle, and it dawned on me just what a god-tier song it was, and inspired me to listen to the rest of the album. Homogenic: This was the first Björk album that had me at attention all the way through. My go to track on this album would definitely be Possibly Maybe, it has such an eclectic sound and is so relatable. I think the highlight of this album for me though was the drill stuff, like Army of Me, Hyperballad and Enjoy. My first Björk song was It’s Oh So Quiet, and it was such a colorful song, I imagined the rest of it was the same, and it’s safe to say it was.

Also Venus as a Boy and Like Someone In Love are such fun love songs, and I love Björk’s take on the latter.

I especially love the more house inspired tracks, such as There’s More To Life Than This, Violently Happy, Human Behavior, and Big Time Sensuality. And it’s safe to say that I like this album, it’s a little bit of almost everything 90s, which is one of my favorite decades of music. MASSIVE DISCLAIMER: there seems to be a lot of discourse as to what order to listen to her albums, so I’ll be clear in saying that this is NOT a guide as to what order her albums should be listened to, it’s simply me documenting the journey I’m on and how I’m feeling so far.ĭebut: I generally like to start at the beginning of an artist’s discography and work my way through it chronologically, and so that’s where I started.
